This section of ornamental carving was found on Horubadhoo Island in South Maalhosmadulu (Baa Atoll). It appears to have originally been part of the ornamental program on a structure, and depicts a head with hair tied up into a topknot, and framed within an ornamental arch. This artefact has been tentatively dated to the 8th-9th centuries CE by the Maldives National Museum.
